eSIM for Turkey: which plan to choose
Turkey is our customers' most popular destination. Here's how much data you'll need on holiday, which plan to pick and why a travel eSIM beats a local SIM card.
How much data you need
Roughly: messengers and maps take 100–300 MB a day, social media with photos 0.5–1 GB, video and sharing data with a laptop from 1–2 GB a day. For a beach week with messengers and maps, 3–5 GB is usually enough; if you work or watch a lot of video, take unlimited.
eSIM plans for Turkey
| Plan | Valid | Price | For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 GB | 7 days | $2.99 | transfers, taxis, first days |
| 3 GB | 30 days | $4.99 | a week of messengers and maps |
| 5 GB | 30 days | $7.99 | a holiday with photos on social media |
| 10 GB | 30 days | $12.49 | two weeks or a family |
| Unlimited | 7 days | $14.49 | work, video, hotspot |
Unlimited means 2 GB a day at full speed, then you stay online at up to 1 Mbps — enough for messengers, maps and music.
eSIM or a local SIM card
You can buy a local SIM at the airport or a store, but you'll need your passport and time, and tourist prices are usually higher than local ones. Also, in Turkey phones used with local SIMs must be registered (IMEI) if you use them longer than tourists are allowed to. A travel eSIM is installed at home, with no documents, and works right after landing.
How to connect
- Buy an eSIM on the Turkey page and install it at home over Wi-Fi.
- After landing, turn on the eSIM, choose it for mobile data and turn on Data Roaming.
- Turn off mobile data on your main SIM so you don't pay for roaming. Step by step — in the installation guide.
Good to know
- The eSIM works across the country on partner networks.
- The plan usually starts when you first connect to a network in Turkey.
- Ran out of data? Top up in the Telegram bot or on the website — it takes a minute.
